Pensoft gives two awards at the Student Conference on Conservation Science
The Student Conference on Conservation Science (SCCS), which took place on September 10-14, 2024 in Balatonvilágos, Hungary, offered an opportunity for young researchers and students of conservation science to present their work, participate in skill-building workshops, and engage with peers and established scientists.
Pensoft had a special presence at the event, sponsoring the conference and offering two publications in Nature Conservation as awards for the best talk and best poster.
Ágnes Tóth won the Best Poster award, for her poster The vertical distribution of the soil seed bank in wet meadows and implications for restoration.
Ahlam Sentil won Best Talk, for The critical role of maintaining the native wild vegetation for pollinator conservation despite the use of habitat plants.
They each get to publish a paper in Nature Conservation for free.
The event was organised by the HUN-REN Centre for Ecological Research and the Regional Centre for Information and Scientific Development (RCISD) and supported by Safeguard, a project focused on pollinator conservation in Europe in which Pensoft plays a key role.
